In order to help faculty and students to understand the library, and to master the method of obtaining and utilization of literature and information, and to promote information literacy of faculties and students, the library offers several kinds of training programs at different levels:

Elective Course –Information Retrieval and Utilization
18 credit hours, 1 credit points

Orientations
Library orientations as part of enrollment activities are offered to freshmen at the beginning of each academic year to introduce the utilization of university library, library collections and services, Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) system, circulation rules etc.

“60 minutes” Workshops
The “60 minutes” workshops are held in the form of training lectures on special topics to introduce searching methods and techniques to  various kinds of academic resources. The workshops are carried out twice each semester, and the training schedule can be found on the websites of the library or university.

Course-Specific Instruction
Course-specific instructions are tailored training sessions to teaching students how to find and use information to finish their class requirements and assignments, especially related to professional courses or research method courses. The instruction sessions can be held at extra-curricular time. If you would like to book an instruction session, please contact the subject librarian (preferably two weeks in advance) at 3621250.
