Founded by Stanford University Libraries in 1995, HighWire Press was formed to help academic publishers to host peer-reviewed content online. The Journal of Biological Chemistry published by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, was the first to launch on the HighWire platform. Today, HighWire’s Intelligent Publishing Platform supports over 3000 journals, books, reference works, and proceedings.
