This database consists of two parts, Clase and Periodica, with Clase indexing the literature in Latin American journals that specialize in social sciences and humanities; Periodica covering journals that contain scientific and technical literature. The database provides access to more than 2,800 titles of more than 680,000 bibliographic citations published in Spanish, Portuguese, French and English academic journals, including not only information based on Pan-American issues, but also articles, papers, books, conference proceedings, technical reports, interviews, and brief notes published in 24 different Latin American and Caribbean regions. Among them, the journals collected by Clase began in 1975, and journals collected by Periodica have been in operation since 1978. The database is updated every three months.
