The OAIster Global Joint Institutional Knowledge Base is a project funded by the University of Michigan under the auspices of the US Mellon Foundation in 2002. It has now developed into the world's largest open archives database, providing researchers with multidisciplinary digital resources. The library collects more than 31 million records from more than 1,100 libraries and research institutes, including: digital books and journal articles, native digital documents, audio files, images, movie data, data sets, papers, technical reports, research reports, etc. Each record includes full-text links to digital resources. Users can view, download, and save a large number of pictures and full-text content. The database is updated every three months.
